SAAB

Welcome to the home pool of the South Austin Area Barracudas (SAAB) located in the Villages of Shady Hollow at 12006 Gatling Gun Ln, Austin, TX 78748.  Our goal is to have a fun meet practicing correct swim techniques and great sportsmanship.

PARKING: The Pool/Amenity Center parking lot will be closed for safety reasons and available only for handicapped parking. Main parking is available along the streets – specifically Gatling Gun Lane, Warwick, and Buckingham Gate. Parking is also available in the Baranoff School parking lot across Gatling Gun Lane.

ZOOS: Please bring a chair, snacks, and LOTS of drinks... It's going to be a hot one! Also, bring bug spray because we have been seeing more mosquitoes. Don't forget to please label EVERYTHING!  See location of SAAB and Visitor zoos below.

We will also be doing FLYOVER STARTS for all swimmers 11 and up.

SPECTATORS: Spectators are allowed to view from the pool deck from Baby pool side ONLY (Little Blue Rectangle seen in the picture). No parent spectators on the ready bench side of the pool unless you are a zookeeper. Please do not crowd the timers or cross over behind the starting swimmers. We need to keep the Amenities Center area clear for moving swimmers from the Ready Bench to the pool. Please no chairs on the deck, as they block the movement of swimmers and spectators. There is space around the outside of the pool fence on the east and west sides to view from as well.

PEOPLE TRAFFIC FLOW: The entrance for swimmers and Zookeeper volunteers is the gate at the north, parking lot/zoo side of the pool ONLY. Parents are not supposed to enter through the swimmer entrance; this is for youngsters only. To exit the pool area, use the east (street-facing) side of the walk-through gate. Please see the Pool Layout below.

VISITING TEAM VOLUNTEERS: As a volunteer organization, we count on our phenomenal Barracuda AND visiting parent volunteers to run successful meets.  The Volunteer Coordinator can answer any questions regarding a volunteer assignment.  All volunteers should meet at the location indicated below at 7:30 AM. The following volunteer needs are the responsibility of the visiting team:

• Timers – inside the Amenity Center Barn (will include demo of wireless timing system)
• Stroke & Turn Judges, Scribes, and Runners – near the baby pool horse trough
• Ready Bench – under awning of Amenity Center Bar, near the large watering hole
• Heat Ribbons/Ribbons – near computers, under Barracuda tent in 
• Hospitality – at the Hospitality table, near the grain Silo
• Concessions - at Cuda Grill under the gazebo adjacent to the parking lot with Barracuda zoos.

CONCESSIONS: Concessions will be available at the Gazebo adjacent to the parking lot. We will have coffee, breakfast tacos, other refreshments, and lunch concessions, including slammin’ BBQ pork sliders.
