Who is ready to GET PUMPED for CHAMPS 2026!!! (This is also the theme for Saturday!)

There are a few key differences between Champs and other meets. The main one is that, unless you are a zookeeper or zoo wrangler, you do not get to visit your kid during the meet. You can drop them off, but then you must head to the other side of the pool/ building for the rest of the meet. You can deliver food, drinks, and other items at the gate to a wrangler, but you cannot enter the zoo area. So, if you want to be with your kid, sign up as a zookeeper or wrangler. Spots are limited; sign up now.

There are two “meets”. One for kids 10 and under, and a second afternoon meet for swimmers 11-18 years old.

6:30 am Swimmers 10 and under Zoo Drop off

1:00 pm Swimmers 11-18 Zoo Drop off

All parent volunteers need to check in at the main lobby entrance – CHAMPS has very specific badges. They can also answer any questions and provide meeting locations.

It’s very HOT… pack lots of drinks. Label everything because you will not be able to pack up your kids' stuff unless you are a zookeeper.

DO NOT PARK ON THE GRASS or the side of a road! If it’s not a real parking spot, you will be ticketed this year. Bring your wagon and plan to get your steps in. We recommend bringing SHADE, as there is no natural shade on the side from which the parents view. NO CHAIRS on the pool deck. There are bleachers for the elderly and others with limited mobility. No air-conditioned areas to hang out in. The pool is covered, just like the Hays Pool, but it gets hot and humid around it.

There will be food trucks, but we always recommend sending your kids with healthy food and drink options to help keep their energy up.
