Fun Facts about the Pool: The Leroy Colombo Swim Center, named after a deaf lifeguard who once held a Guinness Book World Record for having saved the most number of lives while a long time lifeguard in Galveston. Another interesting fact about our pool is that it is frequently used by the Austin Film industry as a scene for commercials such as one starring Garret Weber-Gale in a commercial for a local auto dealership and a few movies and television shows such as The Faculty (see if you can find the maroon tiles on the pool walls left from movie), The Ringer, and Friday Night Lights. So you'll be swimming at a pool where other well-known and famous people, including Olympic swimmers, have swum.
